Whose Birthday Today? is the English edition of 今日は誰の誕生日？ ("Whose Birthday Is It Today?"), a website run from Japan. Its history companion, World Chronicle, is a world history timeline linked to the same birthdays.
For every day of the year, we show famous people who were born on that day, with short profiles, events that happened on that date in history, and the month's birth flowers. In World Chronicle (https://inv-world.com/en/history/), events in Japan and the rest of the world are shown side by side from prehistory to today. Each date links to the famous people born on that day, and each year page lists famous people born that year.
How we make our pages
- Names, birth dates and historical events are based on Wikipedia, Wikidata and other public sources.
- Profiles are written by us, with reference to the sources listed under each profile.
- Photos come from Wikimedia Commons. We only use photos that are in the public domain or released under CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA licenses, and we credit the author and license under each photo. For living people, we only use official photos released by government bodies.
- We do not include people who are mainly known for crimes or incidents.
