Matt Damon is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer from Cambridge, Massachusetts. After attending Harvard University, he co-wrote the screenplay for Good Will Hunting (1997) with his friend Ben Affleck. The film earned the two an Academy Award for best original screenplay. Damon went on to star in Saving Private Ryan (1998) and became an action star as spy Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity (2002) and its sequels. He also appeared in the Ocean's Eleven series, The Departed (2006), Invictus (2009), Interstellar (2014), and The Martian (2015). He is noted for his thoughtful, intelligent acting and his clean-cut screen image.

He broke through as a featured singer on Nothin' on You with B.o.B and Billionaire with Travie McCoy. His albums Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010), Unorthodox Jukebox (2012), and 24K Magic (2016) produced hits such as Grenade and Locked Out of Heaven. He also formed the duo Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak and has won many Grammy Awards.

Frank Herbert was an American author best known for the science fiction novel Dune. Born in Tacoma, Washington, he spent years working as a journalist before turning to fiction full time in 1972. Dune, published in 1965, became his breakthrough. It won the Hugo Award in 1966, has been translated into more than 20 languages, and has sold around 20 million copies. Herbert continued the saga with five more novels, from Dune Messiah (1969) to Chapterhouse: Dune (1985). His other books include The Dragon in the Sea and The Dosadi Experiment. Across his work he explored ideas about the environment, human evolution, and genetic engineering.
