Bono
Born May 10, 1960
Irish singer and activist who fronts the rock band U2, known for albums like The Joshua Tree.

Born May 10, 1900
English-born Harvard astronomer who discovered that stars are made mostly of hydrogen and helium.
Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin was an astronomer born in Wendover, England. After studying at Cambridge, she moved to the United States to do advanced work at Harvard College Observatory. In 1925 she earned the first Ph.D. in astronomy from Radcliffe College. Her dissertation showed that stars consist mainly of hydrogen and helium and that they can be sorted by temperature, a finding that reshaped how scientists understood the universe. She went on to study variable stars and wrote books including Variable Stars and Introduction to Astronomy. In 1956 she became the first woman promoted to full professor in Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and she later chaired its astronomy department. An asteroid was named in her honor.
