What were the key events of the 17th century?
In the 17th century (1601–1700), Tokugawa Ieyasu founded a shogunate in Edo (Tokyo), which later banned Portuguese ships from Japan. In Europe the Peace of Westphalia ended the Thirty Years' War, the Qing entered Beijing, and England's Glorious Revolution took place.
