Billy Joel is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist from the Bronx, New York. He began studying piano as a young child and later played in piano bars, an experience that inspired his 1973 breakthrough album and song Piano Man. Through the 1970s and 1980s his records sold in the millions, with well-known singles such as Just the Way You Are, Only the Good Die Young, Uptown Girl, and We Didn't Start the Fire. He has won six Grammy Awards and set a record for the most shows by one artist at Madison Square Garden. He joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and received Kennedy Center Honors in 2013.

Scottish novelist and playwright who created Peter Pan, the boy who would not grow up.
J. M. Barrie was a Scottish writer born in Kirriemuir, the son of a weaver. After earning a master's degree at the University of Edinburgh, he spent two years on a newspaper in Nottingham and then moved to London in 1885 to write full time. His sketches of Scottish town life, Auld Licht Idylls, brought early success, and his novel The Little Minister became a bestseller. He soon turned mainly to the stage, writing popular plays such as Quality Street and The Admirable Crichton. His most famous work, Peter Pan; or, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, opened in December 1904, and he later retold it as the novel Peter and Wendy. He was made a baronet in 1913 and received the Order of Merit in 1922.

Candice Bergen is an American actress from Beverly Hills, California, the daughter of ventriloquist Edgar Bergen. She worked as a fashion model as a teenager and made her film debut in The Group in 1966. Her movies include Carnal Knowledge, The Wind and the Lion, and Gandhi, and her role in Starting Over earned her an Oscar nomination. In 1975 she became the first woman to guest host Saturday Night Live. She is best known for starring as a sharp-tongued TV anchorwoman in the sitcom Murphy Brown from 1988 to 1998, a role that won her five Emmy Awards. She later appeared on Boston Legal, has worked as a photojournalist, and has written two memoirs.
