What happened in 2018?

In July 2018, Japan executed the former leader of the Aum Shinrikyo religious group and others, and in September the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake knocked out power across nearly all of Hokkaido. In November, Nissan's Carlos Ghosn was arrested, and Osaka was chosen to host the 2025 World Expo.
