Herbert Hoover
Born August 10, 1874
Mining engineer and humanitarian who served as the 31st president of the United States from 1929 to 1933.
Herbert Hoover grew up in a Quaker family and was born in West Branch, Iowa. He was part of the first class at Stanford University, where he trained in engineering and geology, and he later ran mining projects in Australia, China, and beyond. During World War I he organized huge relief efforts that shipped food and clothing to people in occupied Belgium and France, and he served as U.S. Food Administrator. He was secretary of commerce under Presidents Harding and Coolidge, then won the presidency in 1928. Months into his term, the Great Depression began. In later years he founded the Hoover Institution and led commissions on government efficiency for Presidents Truman and Eisenhower.

Spanish actor known for The Mask of Zorro, Desperado, and voicing Puss in Boots in the Shrek films.
Antonio Banderas is a Spanish actor from Malaga. After his dreams of a soccer career ended, he turned to drama and joined Spain's National Theatre. Director Pedro Almodovar cast him in a string of films in the 1980s, including Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which made him known outside Spain. He broke through in Hollywood with Philadelphia in 1993 and went on to star in Interview with the Vampire, Desperado, Evita, and The Mask of Zorro. Younger audiences know his voice as Puss in Boots in the Shrek series, and he also appeared in the Spy Kids movies. He reunited with Almodovar for the 2019 drama Pain and Glory.

Suzanne Collins is an American writer born in Hartford, Connecticut. The daughter of an Air Force officer, she moved often as a child and later studied telecommunications and theater at Indiana University before earning a master's degree in dramatic writing from New York University. She began her career writing children's television for Nickelodeon, including Clarissa Explains It All. Her first book series, The Underland Chronicles, started with Gregor the Overlander in 2003. She became world famous with The Hunger Games in 2008, followed by Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The books became hit films starting in 2012, and she has since added the prequels The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and Sunrise on the Reaping.
