Antonio Vivaldi
Born March 4, 1678
Italian Baroque composer and violinist best known for the four violin concertos called The Four Seasons.
Antonio Vivaldi was a composer and violinist from Venice, Italy, who learned the violin from his father, a professional player. He became a Catholic priest in 1703 and was nicknamed "the Red Priest" because of his red hair. That same year he started teaching violin at the Ospedale della Pietà, a Venetian home for orphaned girls, where he later led the orchestra and wrote a great deal of music. Vivaldi produced close to 500 concertos and about 50 operas, and he helped shape the concerto as a musical form. His most famous work, The Four Seasons, is a set of four violin concertos, each picturing a season. His music faded from view for a long time but was revived in the 20th century.

Knute Rockne
Born March 4, 1888
Norwegian-born American football coach who led Notre Dame to national prominence and helped popularize the forward pass.
Knute Rockne was born in Voss, Norway, and moved with his family to Chicago as a young child. He entered the University of Notre Dame at 22, where he played end on the football team, starred in track, and served as football captain in 1913. That year, passes from quarterback Gus Dorais to Rockne helped Notre Dame upset Army, a game that made the forward pass popular. Rockne became Notre Dame's head football coach in 1918 and compiled a record of 105 wins, 12 losses, and 5 ties. His 1924 team featured the famous "Four Horsemen" backfield. Often called college football's first celebrity coach, he was inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame in 1951.
