Rod Stewart
Born January 10, 1945
British rock singer with a famous raspy voice, known for hits like "Maggie May" and "Tonight's the Night."
Rod Stewart is a British singer who was born in London to a working-class family. In the 1960s he sang with several English bands, including the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, where he played alongside Ron Wood. His solo career took off with the 1971 album Every Picture Tells a Story, which included the hit "Maggie May." Later chart-toppers included "Tonight's the Night" and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" Stewart's rough, soulful voice became his trademark. In the 2000s he found new success singing classic standards on his Great American Songbook albums, which brought him a Grammy in 2004. He entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and has been knighted for his work in music.

Born January 10, 1949
American heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist who later became famous for the George Foreman Grill.
George Foreman was an American boxer from Marshall, Texas. He learned to box through the U.S. Job Corps and won the heavyweight gold medal at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. In 1973 he took the world heavyweight title by knocking out Joe Frazier in Jamaica, then lost it to Muhammad Ali in the 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle." Foreman left boxing in 1977 and became a preacher. A decade later he returned to the ring, and in 1994, at age 45, he beat Michael Moorer to become the oldest man to win the heavyweight championship. He finished with 76 wins and 5 losses. Foreman also became a popular TV pitchman, and his George Foreman Grill earned him more money than boxing did.

American computer scientist who wrote The Art of Computer Programming and created the TeX typesetting system.
Donald Knuth is an American computer scientist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He studied mathematics at the Case Institute of Technology and earned his doctorate from the California Institute of Technology in 1963. After teaching at Caltech, he joined Stanford University in 1968, where he is now professor emeritus. Knuth is best known for The Art of Computer Programming, a multivolume series whose first volume appeared in 1968 and which treats algorithms with careful mathematical analysis. Starting in 1977, he developed TeX, a system for producing high-quality printed documents, along with the METAFONT font tool. TeX became a standard way to publish scientific and mathematical writing. Knuth received the Turing Award in 1974, the National Medal of Science in 1979, and the Kyoto Prize in 1996.
