British author who created the Harry Potter series, whose books have sold more than 600 million copies worldwide.
J.K. Rowling is a British author born in Yate, near Bristol, England. She studied French and Classics at the University of Exeter. The idea for Harry Potter came to her during a delayed train trip in 1990, and she planned out seven books. The first, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published in 1997 after several rejections, and the final book followed in 2007. The series has sold hundreds of millions of copies in many languages and was turned into eight films. She has also written The Casual Vacancy, the Cormoran Strike crime novels under the pen name Robert Galbraith, and children's books such as The Ickabog. She founded the charity Lumos, which works to end the placement of children in institutions.

Milton Friedman was an American economist born in Brooklyn, New York, to immigrant parents. He studied mathematics and economics at Rutgers University, went on to the University of Chicago, and earned his doctorate at Columbia University. He joined the University of Chicago faculty in 1946 and taught there until 1977, when he became a senior research fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution. In 1976 he received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his work on consumption, monetary history and theory, and the difficulty of stabilizing an economy. He reached a wide audience through a Newsweek column and through Free to Choose, a 1980 television series and book made with his wife, Rose.

Mark Cuban

American tech entrepreneur who bought the Dallas Mavericks in 2000 and became an investor on the TV show Shark Tank.
Mark Cuban is an American entrepreneur and investor from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He studied at Indiana University and started a computer company, MicroSolutions, which he sold to CompuServe in 1990. In 1995 he and Todd Wagner co-founded AudioNet, later called Broadcast.com, an early company for streaming audio and video online. Yahoo! bought it in 1999 for nearly $6 billion. In 2000 Cuban bought the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, and he became known as a very visible, hands-on owner. The team won the NBA championship in 2011. That same year he joined the ABC show Shark Tank as one of the investors who hear pitches from business owners. He has also invested in media, including the cable network HDNet.
