American actor known for intense, committed performances in films such as Donnie Darko, Brokeback Mountain, Zodiac, and Nightcrawler.
Jake Gyllenhaal is an American actor from Los Angeles. His father is director Stephen Gyllenhaal, his mother is screenwriter and producer Naomi Foner, and his sister Maggie is also an actor. He appeared as a child in City Slickers in 1991, then gained notice in October Sky (1999) and the cult film Donnie Darko (2001). His role in Brokeback Mountain (2005) earned him an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor. He has also starred in The Day After Tomorrow, Zodiac, Prisoners, Nightcrawler, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. On Broadway he has appeared in Constellations and Sunday in the Park with George. Critics often point to the deep commitment he brings to very different characters.

American historian known as the father of Black history, who created Negro History Week, the forerunner of Black History Month.
Carter G. Woodson was an American historian and educator born in New Canton, Virginia. He studied at Berea College and the University of Chicago, and in 1912 he earned a doctorate in history from Harvard, becoming the second Black American to do so after W.E.B. Du Bois. In 1915 he founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, and the next year he launched The Journal of Negro History. In February 1926 he started Negro History Week, which later grew into Black History Month. His many books include The Negro in Our History and The Mis-Education of the Negro (1933). He is widely called the father of Black history.

Reggie White
Born December 19, 1961
Hall of Fame NFL defensive end nicknamed the "Minister of Defense," who won Super Bowl XXXI with the Green Bay Packers.
Reggie White was an American football defensive end from Chattanooga, Tennessee. After starring at the University of Tennessee, he played for the Memphis Showboats of the USFL before joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 1985. In 1987 he recorded 21 sacks and was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year. He moved to the Green Bay Packers in 1993 and helped them win Super Bowl XXXI, recording three sacks against the New England Patriots. He finished his career with the Carolina Panthers, retiring with 198 sacks, then an NFL record. An ordained Baptist minister, he was known as the "Minister of Defense." He entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
