Neil Armstrong
Born August 5, 1930
American astronaut and engineer who commanded Apollo 11 and became the first person to walk on the moon.
Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut, test pilot, and engineer who grew up near Wapakoneta, Ohio. He earned a student pilot's license at 15 and flew combat missions as a Navy pilot during the Korean War. He studied aeronautical engineering at Purdue University and later became a research pilot at Edwards, California, where he flew the rocket-powered X-15. Armstrong joined NASA's astronaut corps in 1962. In 1966 he commanded Gemini 8, which made the first successful docking of two vehicles in space. As commander of Apollo 11, he became the first person to step onto the moon on July 20, 1969. He later taught aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati.

Patrick Ewing
Born August 5, 1962
Jamaican-born American basketball center who starred for the New York Knicks and won two Olympic gold medals.
Patrick Ewing is a basketball player and coach born in Kingston, Jamaica. He moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, at age 13 and soon took up basketball. At Georgetown University he was a three-time first-team All-American and led the team to the 1984 NCAA title, earning tournament MVP honors. The New York Knicks chose him first overall in the 1985 draft. In 15 seasons with New York, he was an 11-time All-Star, reached the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999, and set team records for points and blocked shots. He won Olympic gold in 1984 and again with the 1992 Dream Team. Ewing is in the Basketball Hall of Fame and later coached at Georgetown.

John Huston was an American film director, screenwriter, and actor from Nevada, Missouri. The son of actor Walter Huston, he worked as a reporter and studio writer before he made his directing debut with The Maltese Falcon in 1941. His film The Treasure of the Sierra Madre won him Academy Awards for both directing and screenwriting. Over a career lasting into the 1980s, he made many popular dramas, often adapted from books, including The Asphalt Jungle, Key Largo, The African Queen, The Night of the Iguana, The Man Who Would Be King, and Prizzi's Honor. He also acted on screen, most notably in Chinatown. His final film was an adaptation of James Joyce's story The Dead.
