Malcolm Gladwell is a journalist and author who was born in Fareham, England, and grew up in Ontario, Canada. He worked as a science and business reporter for The Washington Post from 1987 before joining The New Yorker as a staff writer in 1996. His magazine pieces led to his first book, The Tipping Point (2000), which explores how small changes can spread into big trends. He followed it with Blink (2005), Outliers (2008), David and Goliath (2013), and Talking to Strangers (2019). Gladwell co-founded the audio company Pushkin Industries in 2018 and hosts the podcast Revisionist History. He was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2011.

Shaun White is an American snowboarder and skateboarder from San Diego, California. He started snowboarding at age six and signed his first sponsorship deal with Burton Snowboards when he was only seven. Famous for his red hair, he earned the nickname "The Flying Tomato." White won Olympic gold medals in the men's halfpipe at the 2006, 2010, and 2018 Winter Games, becoming the first snowboarder to win three Olympic golds. He also collected many Winter X Games medals and found success in skateboarding competitions. Britannica describes him as one of the most dominant and influential figures in his sport. He retired from competition after the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

Alan Ladd was an American movie actor born in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Before becoming a star, he worked as a grip at Warner Bros. while taking acting lessons, and he built a following through radio work. His breakthrough came with This Gun for Hire (1942), and he often appeared alongside Veronica Lake in films such as The Glass Key and The Blue Dahlia (1946). Ladd became known for playing detectives, cowboys, and war heroes, often as a quiet loner with a strong sense of right and wrong. His best-known role was the title character in the western Shane (1953). His son Alan Ladd Jr. later became a successful film producer and studio head.
