John F. Kennedy

35th president of the United States, who created the Peace Corps and launched America's push to reach the moon.
John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, the second of nine children of Joseph and Rose Kennedy. He graduated from Harvard and served as a U.S. Navy lieutenant in the Pacific during World War II, where he was praised for his courage after his PT boat was sunk. Kennedy served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives and won election to the Senate in 1952. In 1960 he defeated Richard Nixon to become, at 43, the youngest person elected president and the first Catholic in the office. As president from 1961 to 1963, he created the Peace Corps, launched an ambitious space program, handled the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, and proposed major civil rights legislation.

Bob Hope
Born May 29, 1903
British-born American comedian and actor famous for his Road movies with Bing Crosby and decades of USO shows for troops.
Bob Hope was a comedian and actor born Leslie Townes Hope in Eltham, England. His family moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1907, and as a teenager he began performing in vaudeville before reaching Broadway in shows such as Roberta. He got his own radio program in 1938 and remained one of radio's most popular stars for years. In films he sang his signature song, "Thanks for the Memory," in The Big Broadcast of 1938, and he made seven Road pictures with Bing Crosby, starting with The Road to Singapore (1940). Starting in 1941, he spent decades entertaining U.S. troops overseas with the USO. His many honors include the Kennedy Center Honors, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and status as an honorary veteran.

Carmelo Anthony

American basketball star, 10-time NBA All-Star, and three-time Olympic gold medalist elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025.
Carmelo Anthony is an American basketball player who was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. As a freshman at Syracuse University, he led the team to the 2003 national championship and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. The Denver Nuggets chose him third overall in the 2003 NBA draft, and he later starred for the New York Knicks, setting a franchise record with 62 points in a 2014 game, and he won the NBA scoring title in 2012-13. Over 19 NBA seasons he was a 10-time All-Star and scored more than 28,000 points. He also won Olympic gold medals in 2008, 2012, and 2016. He retired in 2023 and was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025.
