American pop singer, songwriter, and actress whose hits like "Like a Virgin" and "Like a Prayer" shaped pop music.
Madonna Louise Ciccone grew up in Michigan and studied dance at the University of Michigan before leaving for New York City to perform. She signed with Sire Records in 1982 and released her first album the next year, with songs such as "Holiday" and "Lucky Star." Her second album, Like a Virgin, became the first by a woman to sell five million copies in the United States. Later albums included True Blue, Like a Prayer, and the Grammy-winning Ray of Light. She also acts, winning a Golden Globe for the film Evita, and she founded the entertainment company Maverick. She entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

James Cameron was born in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada, and moved to the United States in 1971. He studied physics in California and drove a truck before turning to movies, starting out as a special effects worker. His low-budget film The Terminator (1984) became a surprise hit and launched his career. He followed it with Aliens, The Abyss, and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which set new standards for digital effects. Titanic (1997) earned him the Academy Award for best director. His science fiction film Avatar (2009) passed Titanic as the top-grossing movie in U.S. history. He also founded the company Lightstorm Entertainment.

New York Giants football star and Hall of Famer who became a longtime voice of Monday Night Football.
Frank Gifford was born in Santa Monica, California, and played college football at the University of Southern California. The New York Giants chose him with the 11th overall pick of the 1952 NFL draft. A versatile player, he lined up at running back, wide receiver, and defensive back. He was named the league's MVP in 1956, the year the Giants won the NFL championship, and he made eight Pro Bowl teams before retiring after 1964. Gifford then built a second career in broadcasting, working on ABC's Monday Night Football and Wide World of Sports from 1971 to 1998. He entered the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.
