Warren Buffett
Born August 30, 1930
American investor and philanthropist known as the Oracle of Omaha, who built Berkshire Hathaway into a giant holding company.
Warren Buffett is an American investor and philanthropist from Omaha, Nebraska. He showed a talent for business as a boy and later earned a degree from the University of Nebraska. At Columbia University he studied under Benjamin Graham, whose value-investing ideas guided his career. In 1956 he started an investment partnership, and in 1965 he took control of Berkshire Hathaway, a textile company. He turned it into a holding company with stakes in businesses such as Coca-Cola and Disney. His approach focuses on understanding a business and buying when its price is well below its true worth. Nicknamed the "Oracle of Omaha," he is known for his annual letters to shareholders and has pledged much of his fortune to charity.

Born August 30, 1797
English Romantic novelist who wrote Frankenstein, often called one of the first science fiction novels.
Mary Shelley was an English novelist of the Romantic era, best known as the author of Frankenstein. Born in London, she was the daughter of the writers William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, and she married the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley in 1816. That same year, during a stay near Lake Geneva, Lord Byron challenged his friends to write ghost stories, and her idea grew into Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. It first appeared without her name in 1818. Combining Gothic horror with science, the book is often seen as an early work of science fiction. She also wrote novels such as Valperga, The Last Man, and Lodore, and she edited her husband's poetry.
