George Harrison
Born February 25, 1943
English musician and songwriter who played lead guitar for the Beatles and wrote classics such as Something and Here Comes the Sun.
George Harrison was an English musician from Liverpool who became known as the "quiet Beatle." As the youngest member of the Beatles, he played lead guitar and brought the Indian sitar into the band's sound on "Norwegian Wood." He also wrote some of the group's best-loved songs, including "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Something," and "Here Comes the Sun." After the band split in 1970, he released the hit triple album All Things Must Pass. In 1971 he organized two benefit concerts for Bangladesh that became a model for later all-star charity shows. He later formed the Traveling Wilburys with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne. He entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 2004.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir
Born February 25, 1841
French painter and leading Impressionist known for joyful, light-filled scenes such as Luncheon of the Boating Party.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a French painter born in Limoges. As a young man he worked as an apprentice to a porcelain painter, then studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Charles Gleyre. He became one of the central figures of Impressionism and showed his work in the first three Impressionist exhibitions of the 1870s. His early pictures captured everyday life with bright, sparkling color and light, and his art was often seen as more decorative than that of his fellow Impressionists. Famous works include Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette and Luncheon of the Boating Party. After a trip to Italy in the 1880s, he moved toward a firmer, more classical style, especially in portraits and paintings of women. He received the Legion of Honor in 1900.

Anthony Burgess
Born February 25, 1917
English novelist and composer best known for the 1962 novel A Clockwork Orange.
Anthony Burgess was an English writer and composer from Manchester, born John Burgess Wilson. He studied English literature at the University of Manchester and, after serving in the military during the 1940s, worked as a teacher in England. In 1954 he moved to Malaya to teach, and his experiences there led to his first novels, a trilogy published in the late 1950s. Back in England, he entered his most productive period, writing A Clockwork Orange (1962), The Wanting Seed, and Nothing Like the Sun. His major later novel was Earthly Powers (1980). Burgess wrote more than 30 novels along with criticism, biographies, and journalism. He also composed over 200 pieces of music and lived in several European cities, settling in Monaco in 1976.
