Leonardo DiCaprio is an American actor from Los Angeles who is admired for playing complicated and unusual characters. He started out on television, including a role on Growing Pains, and soon drew attention in films such as This Boy's Life and What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, which brought him his first Oscar nomination. Starring opposite Kate Winslet in James Cameron's Titanic (1997) made him famous around the world. He has teamed up many times with director Martin Scorsese on movies like The Aviator, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Killers of the Flower Moon. In 2016 he won the Oscar for Best Actor for The Revenant. He also supports environmental causes through his own foundation.

Kurt Vonnegut was an American writer from Indianapolis, Indiana, famous for satirical novels that mixed humor with science fiction and fantasy to expose the cruelties and absurdities of modern life. He studied biochemistry at Cornell University before joining the U.S. Army in 1943. Captured during the Battle of the Bulge, he was held as a prisoner of war in Dresden, Germany, and lived through the 1945 bombing of the city. That experience later shaped his best-known novel, Slaughterhouse-Five (1969). His other works include Player Piano (1952), The Sirens of Titan, Cat's Cradle (1963), and Breakfast of Champions (1973). Over his career he wrote 14 novels along with plays and nonfiction.

George S. Patton
Born November 11, 1885
U.S. Army general nicknamed "Old Blood and Guts" who led fast-moving tank forces in Europe during World War II.
George S. Patton was a U.S. Army officer from San Gabriel, California, best known for his skill with mobile tank warfare. As a young officer he competed in the modern pentathlon at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, finishing fifth. In World War I he became the first officer assigned to the new Tank Corps and set up an American tank school in France. During World War II he led the Seventh Army in the 1943 invasion of Sicily, and in 1944 he took command of the Third Army, which swept across France and into Germany. His tough discipline earned him the nickname "Old Blood and Guts" and inspired strong pride among his troops. His life was the subject of the 1970 film Patton.
