What happened in the 1970s?
In the 1970s (1970–1979), Osaka hosted Japan's World Exposition, Okinawa was returned to Japan, and Japan and China normalized relations. Worldwide, the Nixon Shock and an oil crisis caused by the Fourth Arab–Israeli War struck, followed by the end of the Vietnam War, the end of the Cultural Revolution, and a revolutionary government in Iran.
