Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Born January 27, 1756
Austrian composer of the Classical era whose works include The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and The Magic Flute.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a composer born in Salzburg, Austria, the youngest child of court musician Leopold Mozart. As a young boy he traveled across Europe with his father and his older sister, Nannerl, visiting cities such as Paris, London, and The Hague to perform and share his own music. In 1781 he settled in Vienna, where he married Constanze Weber and wrote many of his best-known works. Mozart composed in every major musical form of his time, including symphonies, piano concertos, and church music. His operas The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and The Magic Flute are still performed around the world, and he is ranked alongside Haydn and Beethoven in the Viennese Classical tradition.

Lewis Carroll
Born January 27, 1832
English writer and Oxford mathematician who created Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass.
Lewis Carroll was the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, an English author born in Daresbury, Cheshire, into a family of eleven children. He studied at Christ Church, Oxford, and stayed on there as a mathematics lecturer for many years. The story of Alice began as a made-up tale told to three young girls on a boat trip in 1862, and the character was based on Alice Liddell, the daughter of the college's dean. He published Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in 1865 and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass, in 1872. He also wrote the nonsense poem "Jabberwocky" and The Hunting of the Snark, and he was a keen photographer who published works on mathematics.
