David Letterman
Born April 12, 1947
American comedian and talk-show host known for Late Night and the Late Show with David Letterman.
David Letterman is an American comedian, producer, and television host from Indianapolis, Indiana. After earning a degree from Ball State University, he worked as a local TV weatherman before heading to Los Angeles in 1975 to try stand-up comedy. Guest-hosting spots on The Tonight Show led to his own program, Late Night with David Letterman, which aired on NBC from 1982 to 1993. He then moved to CBS to host the Late Show until 2015. Fans loved his dry, offbeat humor and running bits like the Top Ten List and Stupid Pet Tricks. His company, Worldwide Pants, produced Everybody Loves Raymond. He later hosted the Netflix interview series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction and received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Born April 12, 1940
American jazz pianist and composer behind Watermelon Man, Chameleon, and the 1980s dance hit Rockit.
Herbie Hancock is an American jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader from Chicago. A gifted child musician, he played Mozart with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age 11. After graduating from Grinnell College, he joined trumpeter Donald Byrd and moved to New York. His tune Watermelon Man became a hit when Mongo Santamaria recorded it. From 1963 to 1968 he toured with Miles Davis as part of a celebrated quintet. In the 1970s he blended jazz with funk and electronic keyboards, and his album Head Hunters, featuring Chameleon, sold widely. His 1983 single Rockit became a dance hit. He won an Oscar for the Round Midnight score and the Grammy for album of the year for River: The Joni Letters.

Born April 12, 1916
American children's author who created Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins, and Ralph S. Mouse.
Beverly Cleary was an American author whose funny, true-to-life books delighted generations of young readers. Born in McMinnville, Oregon, she grew up partly in Portland, the city that later inspired the setting of her stories. She studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and trained as a librarian at the University of Washington. While working as a children's librarian, she noticed kids asking for books about children like themselves, so she began writing them. Her first novel, Henry Huggins, came out in 1950. She went on to create favorites such as Beezus and Ramona Quimby and the motorcycle-riding mouse Ralph. She won the Newbery Medal for Dear Mr. Henshaw, was named a Library of Congress Living Legend, and received the National Medal of Arts.
