In the 370s BC (379–370 BC), Thebes defeated Sparta at the Battle of Leuctra, took leadership of Greece, and freed the Messenians. In China, Han and Wei attacked and destroyed Jin, and the Stone Drum inscriptions, the oldest surviving Chinese stone inscriptions, were carved in Qin.
